My 4lb. yorkie Lucy was attacked by my Jack Russel Terrier and nearly died. Her jugular vein was torn and she lost so much blood for such a tiny dog. I rushed her to my vet and she was in and out of consciousness the whole way there. I thought I was surely going to lose her. The vet said she needed a transfusion, and he wasnt set up to do them. He referred me to an emergency hospital several miles away. I just broke down and said I didn't think she would survive the drive there. He decided to give her IV fluids which seemed to help, then he was kind enough to drive her there so his tech could carry the IV bag. I think that saved her life. The surgeon at the hospital said she's a little miracle dog to have survived that much blood loss. He operated on her and she's in recovery now. I'm so relieved and so thankful to these vets. I'm a single mom, and was laid off from my job 6 weeks ago. I'm asking for anybody who thinks they could help me with her bills. With 2 vets involved, it's going to be steep. I know it's a lot to ask, and I hate that I am, but I just don't have anywhere else to turnMom called the hospital where Lucy was and they were able to repair her jugular vein and surrounding muscle. It's going to coast $1100. If you can donate or bid on the auction they are having for Dinks Fund it will really help us save more dogs in need.
